Question OMP mod/Skip the premix.

I saw this on someone's mod's list in their signature in the Lounge.

I thought that's a wonderful idea. This would allow you to run synthetic oil, not loose engine sump oil (Sorry, I can't bring myself to call it a crank case anymore... It's incorrect.), and... and... well, thats all the benefits I can think of atm.

Anyone have any more info on this? I PM'ed the guy for more info, and will keep you guys posted.

Should there be one available for 1st gen 13B's and 12A's, I had a few questions.

Would synthetic engine oil actually be better once this OMP mod was applied? Would MMO be better to add to the OMP resivour than standard dino oil? Can you odjust the OMP to add more oil at a specific OMP, say for racing use, and then re-adjust it for street use?

Opinons?

I have considered this also. using premix would get rid of the deposits, to an extent. My only thought is that you would be paying for advantages you can't use. As best I can recall some of the merits of synth are heat dissapation, heat capacity, and consitency (read will not break down) However if you are responsible about your oil changes (read every 3000 miles) and have the air to air type cooler which of these advantages would you be after.
If you have the oil cooler properly mounted and it functions as it should your oil temps should not exceed 230 (can't recall but somewhere around that) so forget capacity. dissapation may help but your OC should be taking care of this, and well consistency I'm not sure I care to speak on.
No mean to offend I just wanted to exchange ideas, you may know more about this than me in which case I can learn and well on the cycle goes. lates
