OMP Compatability?

Hey guys, I was looking into getting an adapter for my OMP to run a seperate resivuor and some one mentioned to me that the GSL-SE Front cover I am using is just a 12A cover and that the 13B 6-Port OMP I was using, will not fit onto the front cover. I didn't realize that they weren't interchangable... or were they wrong?

The omp from a GSL-SE is the same pattern to mount on the front cover as a 2nd gen 86-88.

If you have a 12A front cover neither of the above will fit.

I hate mentioning factual statements without actually checking, so the above statement is as my memory recalls.

That's why I made the thread because I couldn't remember if that was right or not. I sent an email to buy an adapter and I think I confused him.

So can someone verify that the 6 Port OMP fits on a GSL-SE Front cover with no mods?

Yes, the 2nd gen 86-88 omp fits a GSL-SE front cover, as a simple bolt-in.

The top bolt for the 12A omp is closer towards the front of the vehicle (radiator / front bumper area) if looking at the motor while it is in your car.

However, the 12A cover has the provision where the hole SHOULD be an you can drill an tap a 10mm bolt thread to accept the 2nd gen 86-88 omp. And vise versa for the GSL-SE front cover to mount a 12A omp.

An yes, I went and actually looked this time.

OMP is the same from 74-85 except,

the 84-88 gsl-se, 12at, and fc's (turbo has a "bigger" one)

and then 89-2002

No problem DS.

Really the FC turbo omp has a bigger what...???

Pump output...??

Or the unit itself is bigger...?

I pretty sure it is a bolt in on a SE front cover too.

If it's the output I'd rather use that on my current build.

I know all the 86-88 omp's have the provision for 4 tubes vs 2, which I've TEE'ed into two before hooking up to my carb w/out any problems or leaks. Just not sure if I did it w/a TII omp or a N/A.
