Omp
Omp
Hello everyone,
I have been running premix in my SE for quite some time now and figured, since I have the intake off, it would be a good time to remove the OMP injectors and lines. I can't see spending 30.00 for the block off plate and plug kit, so I'm just going to size up some automotive plugs at my local Napa. As long as the oil injectors in the rotor housings are plugged and the 4 holes in the injector manifold are plugged, there really isn't a need to remove the OMP itself, right?
Thanks,
Mike

My question is why remove the system? The SE engine is the most durable rotary engine built in a long time and the oiling system is excellent. Combining it with premix will only help to lengthen its lifespan.
Yes it is a durable engine with 3mm apex seals, but the oiling system sucks and is definitely outdated. And I would never have both the oil injection and premix working together. To me that defeats the purpose of going to premix. But thanks for your opinion. We all know that this has been debated until people were blue in the face, lol. I'm happy with my premix because I think that it is a better, more reliable, and cleaner way to lubricate the seals.
I think the OMP should come off too. It doesn't make a lot of pressure, but oil is going to build up wherever you plug it.
The part of the front cover it's attached to is a little awkward to plug by itself.
