OMG My engine is almost ready to be put in!

Heres some pics, and I lookded around but I couldnt figure out exactly what the sensor looked like on the water pump housing. Check the third pic. If anyone happens to have a pic of this sensor, I would appreciate it. THANKS!!!

It will be installed in a few weeks. I still have to buy it from a friend of mine. That is why it isnt all cleaned/painted up. I think I will paint those cover pieces though as they seem to really stick out in the pics compared to in person.

Edit: Wait a minute, is this sensor the one thattells the choke to turn off? If so I dont need it and can just put a bolt in there or something.

I found the sensor under a bunch of stuff on my workbench lol. All is good. Now I just need to install some hard lines, wiring, radiator stuff, and fill it with fluids and start it.

Cool, you got it in. There's nothing wrong with a beehive if you remove the restrictor in the long coolant pipe going from the rad up to the firewall. Also change the two inner o-rings and of course use new o-rings between the pedestal and the engine. The beehive-equipt 12A I put in a beautiful silver '83 last week ran nice and cool.

Yeah hi temp flat black.

Update: Only things left to do now are to hook up the vac lines, fuel supply line (needed to replace the hose), connect the power wires to the starter, connect the speedo cable, bleed the brakes, and ORDER A NEW CLUCTH LINE!!! The one I have, which is brand new is like 2 inches TOO SHORT. BAH! So I can at least get it started and set the idle and make sure nothing is leaking and make sure there are no problems. I figure I will then be able to hook up my other things like the radio, and a few other misc items.

Nice and clean. I like how you did the engine bay and what not. Your a step ahead of corrosion.

Bravo..

BTW move the alarm speaker to the otherside or up inside the back well.

It might decide to catch on fire..

Good point, Not sure if you had it there before but they usually dont withstand heat very well (and as we all know, rotaries are fairly hot!)

For the idle problem, triple check vacuum leaks and timing.

Nah, its been there for a long time. Besides, I have extras lol.

Rich, it is a good feeling to finally having it running again and sounding stronger than ever.

Another vid. I got the vac leak thing figured out and it was the intake mani was a little loose and I had a vac plug that was cracked in half. It now idles around 1200 pretty strong. In the vid as you can see it was around 1500.

Edit: I would also like to thank Trochoid, MountainScreamer, Vipernicus42, blmcquig, blwfly, 64mgb, GSL-SE Addict, and last but not least, Angie my fiance for all the help/advice. Without them, this might have been possible but would have taken a hell of a lot longer lol. Thanks guys - RX7CLUB FTW!!!
