Why don't we get a consortium of guys- say 70, and we all pitch in $100.00 or so. We can buy the car for preservations sake.
(Just to let you know- I can make room in my garage, add a window ac unit and keep her in mint shape. I'll be happy to send you pics or better yet- postcards when I get the chance)

Nice car, but not a limited edition and not original paint. Also, that red colors is going to get you some tickets and the "classic" look might help get it stolen.
If you want to stay under the police radar and away from the crooks, try out Kevin's Stealth look (upper left hand photo):

Off topic: "that red colors is going to get you some tickets "
Naw. I've been driving a red '82 GSL for 22 years. Only one ticket, and I'd have gotten a ticket in my wife's silver Windstar that day. Red get's you noticed, being stupid and getting caught speeding gets you a ticket.
Back to topic: Both cars would both look great in my driveway.

KC, I think you are right, I took a better look at the pictures from work, where they download faster. It looks like the door jams and under the hood match the surface, so it must be original.
It just looks TOO good and TOO red to be an original RX-7 color from 1979 - remember that was back when earth colors were popular, brown, gray, green, etc.
It's a pretty car, still, it's real expensive, not an LE and it probably will get noticed by the wrong people (police and car thieves). Also, it's so pristine I wouldn't want to drive it, bad for a rotary, as we all know.

hehe yeah I know what you mean. I blink at that interior every time i check it out again. They had a red called joyous red..I have a early production 79 the "Red Rocket", with the right side hood support, it is the same color, just faded.
I feel like running off a print and showing it to her (RR) explaining thats what were shooting for!
