ok what are these small boxes with wires coming out?

My car is a 84 GS stock stereo with out eq. I don't have a repair manual so I really don't have any idea, but what are the small silver boxes that look like stereo amp's attached below the rear storage bins (when you tear them out) they have cooling fins and look exactly alike what are they?
thanks for your help in advance.

It took me SOOO long to find the second one in my car... I had one under the drivers seat, and then went wild looking for the one for the rear speakers... damn things werent all that great, only like 50w or something like that...

One amp for front, one for rear. (Dependant on stereo options you have.. Some only have the rear, some have none.)

25Watts per channel, they're not all that great, but better than just a head unit amp, and they're by Clarion, so they've got some bit of quality in them. I am still wroking on a pin out of one.... Whenever I get around to it.

Just so you know, you can save another 3 pounds by removing the amp below the drivers seat. You'll have to take out the 4 bolts and remove the seat, but it sure beats reaching under the seat and grabbing 3 loose wires (3 is a guess....)
