Is it OK to remove the E-Shaft accessory pulley?
Title pretty much says it all. I have been working on cleaning up some of the extra BS in my engine bay and was wondering if removing the main accessory pulley would mess anything up. The pulley I am talking about would normally run the Air pump and the AC. I dont think it will but I do notice that most people end up leaving it on after emission and AC removal. Just wondering if there was a reason to leave it on.

I removed mine but made the mistake of whackin off the inner pulley at the same time so I needed to reestablish the timing afterward. Lesson: Mark the pulley and Eshaft before taking it off in case they stick together.
Also I had to add some spacing washers to make up for the thickness of the accessory pulley, otherwise the 10 mm bolts would bottom out. Here's some pictures:

Ray, next time use a thread chaser to clean the rust and crud out of the bottom of the holes in the pulley hub. It's what I do when I remove the accesory pulley and reuse the stock pulley bolts. They don't actually bottom out. They infact run into the crud in the threads. The bolts are 6mm x 1.0

I thought that was weird. I'm surprised that much crud could collect in there, I figure this out after popping the head off one of the bolts before it tightened down the main pulley. Fortunately I had a spare eshaft pulley (which also had holes the bolts bottomed out on) so I wasn't taking ay more chances with that on.
Anyway, back to the subject of the post, yeah I think it looks way more cool without the accessory pulley. And if you want the ultimate in coolness, get yourself one of those little inexpensive mitsubishi double pulleys for the alternator:

Yeah I have the double alt pulley so mine will look just like yours except mine are all now powdercoated matte black. I am thinking about going ahead and powdercoating the water pump (is it gonna trash the bearings baking at 400 for about 20 minutes) matte black also and then doing the front cover chrome.

Doc's right, but if you have a place you can send it to be rebuilt then powder coat it then send it off to be rebuilt.
But if you powder coat it, it heat soaks just a tiny bit more.

OK sounds good. I will just PC the "housing" and not the "pump" itself. I will just paint the pump so as not to damage the bearing/seal.
So heres the list of things and their prospective colors so far.
Matte black:
All pullies, Radiator surround including the top piece, oil pan (copying some of kgray's ideas), engine mount (the front piece that hooks motor to motor mounts), solid motor mounts, water pump housing, water pump (painted), wiper arms, and battery tray.
Chrome:
Front cover, hood prop rod, alternator, air cleaner, coil holder, hood hinges, maybe a few other misc pieces I cant think of right now.
I also think I may end up PC'ing the vacuum hard lines. Possibly the matte black, though not sure. It would end up "hiding" them since my engine bay is still faded metallic black. May end up doing the hood latch although the RB strut bar pretty much hides it.

Yeah same chrome.
The air cleaner, rad side parts, hood prop rod, air cleaner, etc. was white at the meet. I am now going for a little classier look. Also the mirrors, sunroof drain pieces, etc that are white on the exterior will be turning black.
Thanks for the heads up on the heater hard lines. I am thinking most of it will end up matte black, to blend in with the background so the nicer parts can "pop". Leaving the strut bar yellow though. It wont fit in the oven (yet muwahahaha)...
