Don't use synthetic oil in your motor if your oil metering pump is hooked up. Your engine needs oil that will burn. Redline works good in the transmission.

Redline fluid for the tranny...
There's a big debate on wheather to use symthetic or conventional oil. I use a high quality conventional oil, but recent studies show a good quality synthetic should be fine as well.

Do a search... this question comes up at least once a week...

Do a search on pre-mixing the oil in with the gas, it'll provide great lubrication for the motor. Type in "pre-mix" in your search box.

If you can't get redline locally and/or don't want to mess with ordering it, go to a GM dealer and get GM Syncromesh tranny fluid. The stuff is wonderful, stopped a 3rd gear grind I had with where redline didn't.
