oil temp sensor?

What does the oil temperature sensor do? FYI it is located aft of the oil level sensor on the oil pan.

It's a switch for the subzero assist fluid system. That's how the system knows when the engine is below freezing...

OK, so in other words, not very necessary. Good, because mine has the wire sheared off.

right on
Its right on the oil pan as he described it. If yours is broken tie the broken wire up or unplug it, its useless
