oil temp gauge question

hey guys this is a odd ball question. my brother bought me a water temp gauge and a oil pressure gauge for my rx7, i allso want to install a oil temp gauge in my car. the only problem is i cant find the same type of gauge for oil temp. i was hoping to keep all my gauges the same. well i was in the local parts store today and saw a bunch of gauges that where for both water and oil temp. my question can any water temp gauge be used as a oil temp?

back of water pump housing but tap it with 3/8 so you can use the fittings that came with that gauge.

yes you can use water temp as oil temp but you need the below oil pedestal block.
