oil smoke at startup
After my car warms up for about 30 seconds it begins to produce a thick blue smoke...I thinkit is because oil is somehow geting into the exhaust because once it warms up it smoke for about a mibute and then doesnt smok at any other time. Any ideas on why this i s happening? I have a straight back exhaust with a borla tip...no emissions on it

Make sure it's oil, and not fuel. The car will run rich while warming up, and might smoke a fit if choking too much.
Now, it could be oil leaking into the chambers while sitting for a while, but I doubt it. If it is oil, then the only real fix would be to replace the seals (rebuild time). Short term fix; use Lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer in place of 1 or 2 quarts of oil the next time you do an oil change.

Lucas rocks man! I use it in all of my engines since I first tried it in my 7 to help the oil control rings (used to smoke horribley on deceleration).

you all seem to know what you're talking about.
I was wondering, do the early RX7s have to run for quite a while before smogging the car effectively, one of you said that it runs rich when it first starts. Could that be my problem. And does anyone know where I can find the interior sterio panel for my '82?
