Oil Pump, signs of failure

I wondering what types of signs i can expect from a oil pump that is about to go, the hayns manual gives some aproimate values for the oil pressure at Idle and at 3000 rpm, but above that, nothing.

I know that the oil pressure gauges are not very accurate but is it normal that i see a drop in oil pressure from about 5 down a little below 4 (dont remember the units) when the revs go above the ~5500 rmp range

Should i be woried abou this?

Funny thing, I just tested mine today!. I just rebuilt this motor and it has less than 100 miles on it and my oil pressure goes over 60(on the gauge) sometimes and sometimes it reads 0. The oil pressure test I did today confimes thye gauge is totaly inacurate!.

Yes, it's normal for the pressure to drop a little at high RPM. The oil gets aerated and pressure drops because the oil is no longer "solid".
