Oil pressure question & interior function question.

so i recently just picked up a 84 gsl from a friend who is moving out of town but i have a few questions. 1. when the car is running and idling according to the oil pressure gauge there is no oil pressure until it hits about 2000 rpms. and 2. what is that joy stick looking thing below the power window switches? thanks

The oil pressure gauges are not the most accurate. Recommend that you clean and check the contact where the wiring attaches to the sending unit located on the side of the engine.

Joystick is for the speaker balance.

i had a feeling that was what it is for, theres a aftermarket stereo so i dont think it would even affect it, im just gonna rip the wires out and make some sort of blank cover.

which side of the engine is the oil sending unit on?
