Talking Gilmer Drive Pulley Kit With Electric Water Pump Question????

Okay getting ready to buy more parts for my SA drag project that is almost done...I want to buy the Gilmer Drive Pulley Kit for my motor...My question to you guys is, can i run the Gilmer Pulley kit with with a electric water pump that will be in line with the radiator hose located somewhere else...

Key points the reason i ask is because the Gilmer Pulley kit comes with a belt for those running the stock water pump...I have removed my water pump...using there kit on my block will have slack in the belt...Do they or somebody else sell smaller belts?

thanks teddy

What I've seen on the dragsters I work on, is an extra pulley without teeth, and it works as a tensioner putting pussure on the flat side of the belt. you adjust the pulley with a adjuster bolt and you lock it in place with the bolt in the center of the pulley. Just like modern cars have.

I have a car here with that set up but no digital camera.

Easy to fab that sounds like a plan...and whats cool about that is he/she can adjust the tensioner instead of adjust the alternator like modern cars today...good stuff...easy fab bracket to make ...thanks for the insight bro...

cheers teddy
