Oil pressure gauge inoperative
Okay, so I've been sitting at 0 p.s.i. oil pressure for 2 weeks according to my oil gauge, but my engine is not locked up. I think it's the sending unit. Am I barking up the right tree? :smiley_12

As an asides, what is the relationship between the yellow wire with a red stripe to the oil and water temp sensor wires which are also yellow but with different color stripes?..why would disconnecting or cutting that wire defeat both gauges inside the dash?

Good question, have you looked at the wiring diagram and traced the 2 wires back to the cluster? From a technical stand point, the sensor wires are a ground for thier individual circuits. I wouldn't think that there is any overlap in the circuitry between them, but I have not looked at the wiring diagram.

I once had inoperable water temp gauge and oil pressure gauge - turns out the yellow wires had been switched when they put Pamela's engine into Carmen.
Every so often my oil pressure gauge quit since - I found there was a bit of moisture in there that would freeze and break the contact.
