Oil Pressure

I have a 79' 12a with newly rebuilt engine with about 15K on it. I think my oil-pressure seems kinda low at idle (around 10 psi max.) When the car warms up, the pressure drops even furthur. At 3000 RPM, the pressure is about 50 psi and from what I have read it sould be around 70 psi. Could this be my oil pressure regulator? or just my crappy $15 gauge? Thanks, Jason

Mine's doing the same thing right now. 50 psi should be just fine for the 3000 RPM, but the low oil pressure at idle is worrying me.

After I got mine rebuilt my oil is around 25 psi idle and 55 at 3000. What rpm is your car idling at?
I have also noticed that the oil pressure sender makes a difference as well, if you use a cheep part you will not get an accurate reading.
PS what grade of oil are you using ? If your not using 20W50 already you may want to try so that it will bring up your pressure as well.
