Oil Pressure?

What is the normal oil pressure range for a 13b engines? When should I fear that I'm running to much pressure?

1. Assuming you have the stock gauges, right smack in the middle of it. Around 60psi. *NOTE: I'm more familiar with the 12a. I'm assuming the 13b is nearly the same.

2. When you blow something and oil shoots out all over and your engine siezes is the most obvious sign. Are you running high? If so there is likely a clog somewhere in your oiling system.

It should be about the middle (60 psi) at cruising speeds.

At idle, it should be about halfway to the middle.

p.s: the gauges are sometimes not real accurate, so if it's reasonably close to that, you're okay..

per the manual oil pressure is supposed to be 64-79 at 3,000 rpm and 12.8-38.4 at idle. 12A and 13B.

I don't quite know whats wrong... if anything... at idle its just under 60 but when I accelerate it jumps up to a little pass 110 (pegs out) then as I decelerate it drops... Is it the sender, the gauge, or is there something very wrong with my engine Or very good... High oil pressure is good right . Well I'm getting a new gauge cluster because my tach is shot so I'll change it out too. If not I'm thinking its the sender. Any other idea?

To dissipate doubts, get a reliable external guage and test it. If those numbers are correct that is not necessarily good.
