I have 84 SE with 85k miles with a leaking oil pan gasket. Seems a simple fix, however I saw an oil pan ad for a 3rd gen which stated leaks can be caused by he thin metal changing shape due to the heat. Would this be a twin turbo problem or could it be the same for 1st gens?

has anyone bought the racing beat cat back exhaust? Mine has a crappy aftermarket muffler which does not look anything like the original, the racing beat one looks like the original.

any recommendations on Atlanta area 7 specific shops? (dealer or mazcare? good, bad or indifferent)

Here'sa quick fix for the oil pan. Just get under there with a 10mm wrench and start torquing them down. They sometimes lose their tension as the gasket material ages. Simply retorquing them to slightly above stock will make most leaks disapear, or at least significantly slow them down.

The heat issue is more or less a 3rd gen only sort of thing. That twin turbo system looked good on paper, but it turned out to be less than ideal in real life. If I ever get a 3rd gen, I will not run the stock twins.

No opinion on cat back stuff. Their full exhaust systems (single pipe and dual) are great and the noise level, while adequate, will not attract the fuzz.
