Oil pan bolts...
Hey everyone,
While R&R'ing my oil pan gasket I noticed that 3 of my oil pan bolts will not tighten down (they free-turn). I inspected the threads on the bolts and they're in good condition. So the housings are stripped. Has anyone had this problem before? And if so, how did you fix it? It was suggested to me to buy new bolts, slightly larger, and carefully screw them in. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Keith

Airflow is my life
A helicoil is a threaded insert that repairs stripped threads. Basically you drill the hole oversize, then tap with a special tap that comes with the kit. Then you screw in a new threaded insert and your threads are restored.
