75W90 Gear oil. You can use Royal Purple or Redline if you want a "performance" oil. May also need an LSD additive which you can get at any parts store.

I found that even with the Royal Purple, you still need the lsd addative. Lately I have become very fond of Lucas products, so that is what I would use if I had it to do again.

I use the Ford specified LSD additive and it seems to work well. Either way, you will want some type of LSD additive.

Use about a half bottle of friction modifier. I'm running the same redline 75-90 and it seems to work well. Good luck

Just curious but why do you guys use friction modifer in a Mazda rearend? I understand the reason for this in a Ford because a Traction Lok clutch pack has fiber based friction material. The clutch pack in a Mazda limited slip is all steel - no clutch material. Seems like a waste of money to me.....

On the racecars we run straight Amsoil 75/140 or Royal Purple 75/140 and no additives. They hold up great, are not jerky if they are not setup too tight and do not slip. Way better than a Ford 7.5/8.8 traction lock or any other clutch type rear end that I have ever messed with.

I tried just the Royal Purple to begin with, and had tremendous chatter from the lsd (even though they claim no addative needed for lsd). It was fine after adding an addative.

Same here. I'd used Motomaster, the Canadian Tire brand, synthetic gear oil, and it was INCREDIBLY noisy. Add the LSD additive, and it went away.
