Question oil lines in holley carb?

I have a 1985 12A in Toyota Corolla. It has a RB intake,Roadrace Header & a 450 Holley DP.I had a friend set up the carb & He Drilled 2 small holes in the Primary side of the carb for the Oil Lines, they are just before the throttle blades. He then suggested to "put a little oil in gas".Is this correct or did he screw up my carb? The motor it self has 42,000 on it & is a strong runner.I also did the ATF treatment but it didnt smoke a lot?I left it in for 8 days is this right?

Ok I know what yoru friend did,

He drilled 2 holes for the oil lines in the choke towers,
The CORRECT WAY* which I need to do also ..is "T" it off half way down.RacingBeat sells a nipple that screws into your fuel site screw put that in the primary part. And if yoru friend did that to your car im 99.% pretty sure he ran a alt braket for the throttle cable,Which I have done, but im not going through my second cable and have to buy one soon SO, you will also need the throttle braket from RacingBeat...Just tell them its for the Holley/RB conversion..

Dont call Mazdatrix, cause this guy im workin on his car order some parts for my personaly car,and he got me the braket but not the nipple, cause Mazdatrix dont sell it,ALSO non of them sites sell it on the web page so you have to ask for it.They will try to sell you a t for $4. Im just going to get mine from a local store..

Show me pics of your set up.

I always wanted to run a 80-83 1.8 Corrola (trunk) with a 12A

Yeah the ATF trick was suppose to smoke, the more carbon build up the more smoke,I dont do the ATF trick cause I have **** loads of cheicals when I used to work at the dealership, for induction injectorr service,Which cleans the **** out of carbon deposites.

Question not in choke towers

The holes are drilled in the sides of primaries ,right before throttle blades,I called Mazdatrix & They said "Never heard of that done on a rotary".Im hoping that I dont have to get a "New Carb".Right now the motor is in a 1980 2 dr Wagon,But It is going in my 1973 Corolla. How do I post pics?

premix the oil in the gas... that works the best...the stock 12a oil metering pumps dont meter enough oil anyway... thats why the added more oil on the newer engines

Just in case you're not aware of it: the rotary engine must have some oil injected with the fuel. That's why your friend did what he did to your carb. He modified it to work with a rotary. The other alternative is to mix oil with your gas "like a 2-stroke".

Just needed input on carb

Im very aware that rotarys mix gas & oil,My 1st car was a 1979 RX7 & I blew the motor racing, turns out It had no oil either I had many rotary cars, but I felt a little un easy when I called Mazdatrix & a tech guy said "That carb is junk now!".I just needed some opinions from guys who know what they are talking about. The motor is in my '80 corolla but it is going in my '73 corolla, here is the list on my "sleeper

1973 Toyota corolla(1900 lbs)
1985 12A(stock port)+5 speed tranny(low miles)
RB intake-RB Header-Holley 450DP-Holley Race Fuel pump+Regulator
Racing clutch+PP
4:11 in a MAZDA REAR END
Racing coils(might do a MSD Direct Fire)
Electric Fan
Long Dual primarie Xhaust with Supertraaps
245/50/13 Mickey Thompsons in Rear
The car has been lightened,It has glass pin on Hood also. Im hoping that this combo will be FAST,What do yous guys think?

If you have AIM,ICQ,MSN Pm me your info and I wil contact you.Im about to crash so please hurry.
