Oil Leak Question/Help
I have a oil leak on the oil line that runs along the lower left side of the engine (1985 12a). Leak is at the front connection. Would appreciate advice for best way to fix.

Judging from the number of posts and comments, this is a common problem for all RX-7's with the beehive-style water to oil cooler.
It's also a major killer of engines. If the heater hose lines underneath the cooler get soft enough from the constant oil dripping on them, they eventually blow out and the engine pukes all it's coolant while your driving. This usually ends with warped housings and a dead rotary.....
It needs fixing. There is a tutorial somewhere on how to fix it.

I know it needs to be fixed, I was seeking advice on how to fix it!!!
Is there some kind of "crush washer" in there that needs to be replaced?
What parts are needed to make a repair?
Where do you get parts other than a Mazda dealer?

I know that on my FMOC, I used Volvo crush washers, PN 977751. I think that's the right PN. But that's for a front mount, and is probabally different. Find some fiche's online, and take a look at the oil cooler. It'll have an exploded diagram with what you need.
