Oil Leak Frustrations
When I pulled my engine over a year ago, I figured I would clean everything up and replace some of the gaskets.
I thought it would be wise to replace the oil pan gasket while I was at it.
What a mistake. This thing is causing me nothing but frustration.
The first time, I forgot to put sealant on both sides of the gasket. Obviously it was leaking.
The second and current time, I put the sealant on and tightened it to correct specs. about 6 pounds, correct?
After I tightened them up a slight be more, not too much as I dont want to risk bending the pan, it stopped leaking for the most part, but it has 1 drip per second near the oil cooler line after the engine has been running and warmed up.
If the oil cooler line is bent every so slightly, could this be causing a leak? It seems to be dripping down onto the pan from somewhere and making it seem like the pan is now leaking. Ill grab pictures tomorrow.
Thanks!

Did you have to move the engine to get the oil pan on and off? I suspect you
did. It may have messed with the oil cooler lines moving the engtine around.
If you didn't move the engine around then maybe you knocked it while doing
the pan.
Either way, clean around the area with the leak real good so its pristine. Then
start it up and drink beer until you see the leak.
