oil leak....
oil leak....
im pretty damn sure it's gear oil that's leakin....it's leaking right where the trans meet's the engine in the middle is there any way i could fix this without takin parts off? silicon mayb? or is that a bad idea?
If it's dripping from where the bellhousing meets the rear engine plate, you'll need to determine what type of oil it is before you work to correct it. You said it's gear oil, so that means the tranny needs to be removed a gasket/seal kit installed. I've done it on an SA22C tranny ('79-'80) and it was not a problem. The '81-'85 slider hub casting is the same.
If you siliconed it up, oil would fill the bellhousing and destroy the clutch disk and starter.
