Have you ever cut open an oil to air cooler? It is 100% crap. The turb is not brazed to the tubes, and does not travel the length of the tube. The oil to air cooler only works because of its size. I replaced mine with a high efficiency cooler that is about 1/2 the length and 1/2 the thickness, and my temps have never been cooler.

The oil to water is much more efficient considering its size, but this due to the fact that water can absorb more heat than air. Also, the oil to water cooler works even in stop and go traffic.

It is pretty strainght-forward to mount the beehive, the most difficult mod would be t-ing the coolant line that runs from the rad to the heater core, and running the t to the OTW cooler.

Yeah, I put my flame suit on, but facts is facts. My fiance works in R&D for heat exchangers, and when our oil to air cooler cracked, her boss let her exchange ours for an equivalent one. After cutting it open and analysing the design, she cambe back with one that is 1/2 the size. I didn't believe it would work until I saw it. Oil and water temps are very low.

They brazed on fittings that they had on hand, and I spent some time at a hydraulics shop matching threads and such and getting some custom 5000 psi hose made up.
