I have one that I would like to get rid of too. I have no need for it and it is just taking up space. Let me know if you want it.

I have an oil cooler for a 12a, $100 + shipping. It worked great in my REPU when removed last year.

Talking

Yes, stock REPU and Rx4 coolers are the same. They are 8 row instead of 7 (from 12a).

And it's nearly impossible to find those coolers. But I got one ;-) being used.

Nice looking REPU, DriveFast! I'm red with embarassment, mine is so dusty. Or maybe I'm green with green envy? I always liked that REPU Kermit green.

can someone post a pic or explain the difference in the mounting brackets between the gsl-se oil coolers and the 12a coolers? I know the 12a coolers mount under the radiator but would like to see the brackets compared to se? I have a se cooler.

Here is a pic from Mazdatrix. It is not a very big pic, but you can see the differences. The top is the early oil cooler (79-82), the middle is the GSL-SE, the bottom is from a 2nd gen.

The SE cooler has the lines coming out at an angle and have a bit different mounting setup.

thanks for the pic kent. I bet the reason the lines on the se came out at an angle was to clear the sway bar. That bar runs right through the middle of the 2 lines.

Thanks, a lot of hard work and $ went into that restoration. It is a nice color of green. When the paint shop was ordering paint from the paint shop, they said "its a very bright green, is this the one you want?" "yes".

Damn,

Any of you guys who don't manage to sell your pre-se oil coolers, PM me. I don't have the $$ right now, but I'd like to touch base, because I'll be looking to pick one up *soon*.

It sure it. I bought what I thought was an SE oil cooler a couple of weeks ago.

It was a 1st gen early one. I got it in but man that was a lot of work.
