How do you know it is dead? Did you check for spark on leading and trailing? Have you done a Compression test?

FYI. You don't start and rotary and just move it a few feet then rev the **** out of it and shut it off. Moving it a short distance and shutting it off before it has a chance to warm up is one of the most common causes of flooding.

Deflood the motor. Check for leading and trailing spark then check the compression.

My experience when my last engine went (overheated), after the vehicle was started back up I drove it about 500 feet, with a MASSIVE white cloud behind me. Literally the car wouldn't go over 10 km/h. When I pulled the header off coolant poured out of the rotor housings... Toasted engine.

I agree with RX7doctor, you probally just flooded your engine and are thinking your problem is worse than it is. Changing engines should only be a last resort, try all that you can first.
