Oh CRAP warped housings grey/blue smoke
Hi this is rotary addiction I have tragic news today i came home and was planning to replace the water pump i started the car wouldnt start threw some gas down the carb it fired drov it out of the garage turned it around put it back in the garage revved it up to 5k just a little blast shut it off shitloads of blue grey smoke come out the tail pipe it wont start again i pulled the plugs in #1 rotor wet as a ponoche on saturday night #2 rotor was dry it wil fire but turs fater than started then dies adios 12a now on to the real question i have 13b out of a 86 gxl previous rotary torture i notice the 12a mounts are in the front by the pullies and the 13bs are in the mid section can i swap the feont covers and fit my 13b in my 84 gs im going to have it done up bridge port maybe, heavy duty stuff like headers holley intake carb combo msd ill just take the one out my nova
Questions for swap rebuild
Front motormount 13b is this possible
tranny will my 12a tranny bolt to the 13b
intake my 13b is a 6 port the one withthe actuators
what kind of carb'd manifold will fit my 13b
is that about all i need to change
what prices should i look for for a mid-high perf rotary thankyou

well to moun the 13B in you will need a 12a front cover, oil pan. tranny shoudl be fine as far as i know. thats about all i can help ay wiht. but you will come up with more then enough info if you jsut search.

FYI. You don't start and rotary and just move it a few feet then rev the **** out of it and shut it off. Moving it a short distance and shutting it off before it has a chance to warm up is one of the most common causes of flooding.
Deflood the motor. Check for leading and trailing spark then check the compression.

My experience when my last engine went (overheated), after the vehicle was started back up I drove it about 500 feet, with a MASSIVE white cloud behind me. Literally the car wouldn't go over 10 km/h. When I pulled the header off coolant poured out of the rotor housings... Toasted engine.
I agree with RX7doctor, you probally just flooded your engine and are thinking your problem is worse than it is. Changing engines should only be a last resort, try all that you can first.
