Okay so I'm looking around for wheels, but I'm not entirely sure what kind of offset I need, so say for a set of 9 inch wide wheels what offset would I need to make them fit on my 85 gsl?

You're not gonna keep the same center line with 9" wheels in front. Its gonna have to poke out of the fenders. So offset is moot at this point. The factory is 20 from center line.

For 7in wide wheels the offest is 20mm and they barely fit up front. To get wider you would need to
go to some coilovers in the front for sure. The rear I hear can take up to 10in wide but no clue on
the offset.
