Talking Odd Idle?

Started the car up today after adding half a quart of oil. The dipstick was at 1/4 of the way so I just added a bit. Anyways, the car idled a little odd, held at 1,100rpms(which is normal, it was a bit chilly), voltmeter only showed 12 volts, and when I pressed the gas the car bogged so to speak, so I pumped the pedal three times and the volts jumped to 14, fuel pump got louder and car sounded fine and wouldn't bog again any ideas? This is my first time owning so I'm chalking it up to I've never experienced the thermowax before, but it was 43F.....
Thanks!!

Just an alternator that needed a wake up call. Sometimes if the little T shaped connector isn't making perfect contact, the alt won't start to charge until you've reved it a bit. The stumble it had was probably due to lower voltage in the ignition system. When it got up to 14 volts, it had all the ignition power it needed to rev cleanly.

Does any of what I said sound reasonable? It's been so long since I was a new owner that I honestly don't think like one anymore and can't really relate.

Hmm, you said thermowax. Is this a GSL-SE you've got? If so, low alternator voltage can cause all kinds of problems with EFI (I'm guessing). Maybe LongDuckDong can add his two bits when he sees this.

Nope, I've got a GSL and a 48 Weber Carb, so I guess no thermowax?
I'll check the connector tomorrow, that might be the issue though, doesn't sound too far off

Update

Yeah, I have no idea what it is. On another note, Drivers rear tire won't spin, its been stuck for a week(thanks ice) and its finally got warm enough to try and move it again(I had tried last week during a warm day, both wheels spun....) so I started it and had this odd problem again(got a video this time). Let it warm up and tried to move, there is still some ice around the tire, but only 7mm or so. Passenger side moves, drivers doesn't?(there is no ice around the passenger side). The tread on the tires could be better but they're not in need of replacing.......it doesn't help that car is leaning to one side.
/rant

Anyway, back to the odd "idle"? I'm chalking it up to too much 20W-50 and not warm enough. There was some blue smoke. Heres the vid

EDIT!!!
Once again, I do have a 48Ida.........so no accelerator pump? Also, if I go direct to the engine and "step on the gas" that way, I have no problem.

My 83 12a + Nikki does the same thing all the time.
my issue is the transitional circuit in the carb. idle is fine, WOT is fine, but going between them causes a serious stumble. also i have a serious miss at 1k-2k. thanks to the transition being clogged up.

prophetjohn, I just did an idle adjustment fix in a carb today with a semi-related problem. The fix was a spare set of 118 or .046" drilled nickel plated 60 slow air bleeds swapped into the primary side.

Don't mind the title. Just click it. You'll go to post #42.
