Angry O2 sensor won't come out!

I just broke a socket wrench because of the stupid O2 sensor. What's the best way to get it out? I didn't try from underneath, but it does not look like that would make it any easier.
Also, does the car need to have cooled down all the way to do this?

I just put her on ramps and I'll try again tomorrow, will work on it before warming her up.

wasn't tough for me...i took 2 wrenches...one went on the sensor the other hooked on the end of the other wrench giving more leverage to break it loose...took me 3 minutes

do you guys think I should worry about not forcing it too much? I mean, could I potentially break something in there?

thanks bizzarro... I might try something like that too.

Either torch it, use some PB Buster (best penetrating oil out there), or get a better socket.

Get an American-made 1/2" breaker bar and six-point socket.

Spray on some lube and let soak over night, spray on some more and start the engine up and let the car run for a few minutes. We call that the old 'heat wrench' trick.

Use a quality 6 point socket and it should loosen up for you.

Make sure the exhaust is cooled down before installing the new O2.

I used a closed end wrench and 2 pound masonary hammer cracked first hit! Just wear your saftey
glasses. Its easy to do, from underneath.

Add a little extra anti-sieze to the O2. There should be some already on it, but I guess adding more can't hurt.
