Nut size???

I need to buy a socket to tighten my steering. So I need to know what size the large nut around the small screw is. the one you loosen to turn the other one. I don't have an accurate way to measure it and since I have to grind the bevel off the socket I don't want to buy the wrong size and be stuck with it.

thanks

I think Stu is talking about the steering wheel nut. Sounds like you want to know about the adjuster nut on the steering gear box. Not sure what size it is, but I use a long coal chisel and hammer to loosen and tighten it.

What ever size the spark plug size is the steering wheel size is the same!!! So to save yourself the trouble use the larg deep socket spark plug socket...long extention...and there you go

74RX4 has the right nut. I'm looking at the one on the steering box.

40mm, just be real careful not to round the edges over since that nut is so thin.
