Nothing like flushing your cooling system while rolling down the highway

Yup, that was me today. Took off on the onramp and started cruising. Looked down to the idiot light that usually doesnt come on ADD COOLANT. WTH. Hmmph what now???? Usually the seatbelt light comes on everynow and then, eventhough the seatbelt is on. Looked over at the temp gauge yup she's a rising. Time to start for the shoulder. She rising really fast now Have to get to the shoulder quick and shut her down. Made it before she got to the first over heat mark. Pop the hood. Why the hell is me engine steaming next to the sparkplugs. Damn heater line went on me. OK, no problem. Get a screwdriver from the back, loosen the clamp and pull the hose off. yeah nice slit in the hose. Back to the back of the car grab a knife cut an inch of hose off and reassemble. Halfway through my delema already. Ok, two choices now. I managed to stop on the side of the road next to a pond look mass of water and convient enough there is a bucket on the side of the road. Does algee work as a good water wetter?

Nah, not that much red neck in me. Cell phone, hey im on 5 just north of base. Need some antifreeze and distilled water please. So, 1 hour 30 minutes from start to finish on this HOW TO FLUSH YOUR COOLANT SYSTEM WHILE ROLLING TUTORIAL. Waiting on parts is the longest part next to making sure all the air is outa the system.

Car started and rode just fine, finished my run to the pet store and just need to get some new hoses in the very near future.

Oh yeah, and two of Maryland or DC's finest just rolled by and didnt help.
