Not starting right away :(

I don't know latley my 83 rex isn't starting up right away. Before it took like 2 times of pumping the gass pulling the choke and it would start up fine but now it takes 3-4 times of that and i have to let it idle at about 1500 rpms for a couple of minutes so it wont die.If anybody could help me that would be great.

umm... are you warming it up for at least 3~7 min... and then waiting till full operating tempature before getting into high rpms?

I hope you are...

Has there been a change in the weather? Might be changing with it....

same problem

yeh same problem with me..

since i put the weber... i have been having starting problems..

used to be able to start up fine ..

now it takes 3-4 times before it fires up.. and at least 3 or more pumps before it gets started..

plus since theres no choke.. everytime i try to step on the gas while starting..(to raise rpms) it would die..

so i have to wait till its in low RPMS (but alive) and then slowly very very slowly pres the gas up to 1.5ks.. and then wait until its warm..

**** wat a hassal!

has it got to do anyhting with the fuel pump? im using a stock one at the moment.. but i will be upgrading soon..

thanx guys for the help

tim
In the morning, turn the key to ON for a few seconds (say 5 seconds) to allow pump to fill up the fuel bowl. Press the pedal about 10 times. Then START.

My bro with a SA equipped with original 12-A and 48 IDA never had a problem starting it up with that process. Give it a shot. It may help you.
