Not Holding Idle

Car been acting up since my oil change two day ago. It having been holding idle at 950 it keep going up and down from 650 to 550rmp. If it dosen't get enough gas it will shutdown. Now I know this dosen't have to do with my Oil change and new air filter. I put 1 bottle of Lucas Oil Stabilizer, and the rest of Castro 20-50w. I also got the K&N Oil filter, K&N Air Filter. Sometimes the car runs fine with the right idle nad sometimes it dosen't. I been thinking it could be the cold or ... who knows what.

Any ideas anyone having this kind of problem?

Maybe I need to re-tune it for colder weather?

Make sure that all of your vacuum lines are still in place. Then pull the plugs and take a good look at them, make sure they aren't fouling due to a rich idle mixture or something. Also make sure that you did not overfill the oil when you changed it. If its too full, it can get sucked into the chambers and foul the plugs (I'm pretty sure on that, but not positive). I do know that overfilling can produce heavy smoking on deceleration though.... You know its got to be something simple. Good luck!

When you added the Lucas, you reduced the oil that you added to adjust for it, right? What I mean is, if your engine takes 4.5 quarts of oil, and you added two quarts Lucas, then you would only use 2.5 quarts of oil (not the full 4.5). I'm sure you did it the right way, but just thought I'd ask to make sure.

That could be the problem since my car wasen't ready correctly the oil due to a slit uphill. I might had put a little to much oil. Maybe I need to drain it a bit.

I will check it later on a flat ground.
