Noob question
Hello everyone. Right now I drive a Supercharged MR2 (1988) But I have been looking at a first gen RX7 as a weekend car, and buying a truck as a work / weekday car. I would set the RX7 up as a track car (street legal) I would want a turbo engine. I have read all about the Turbo sawps...but I was wondering if anyone on here has set there RX7's up as drift cars. I have been told they are nice and easy to drift, and I don't want a 240 becasue every drifter has a 240. So any links or whatever about a drift first gen would be great. One last thing...I didn't see any links to a page that shows body kits for first gen RX7's, so anything covering that would be great too.
I've looked under the FAQ post, and got a lot of questions answered there...but these are a few that I couldn't find...Thanks for your help.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Just a heads up there is a search function on this forum down at the bottom of the 1st gen section. Try typing in a few key words. you be really surprised with the amount of info that come up. Good luck on the search for a 7

Hello and welcome!
1st gens make great drift cars. Put the car on a serious diet, make sure the diff locks well, lower it down as low as you can live with, get some coilovers for the front..w/ at least 350lb. springs, get at least 200lb springs in the back, get some decent shocks, get some stiff sway bars front and rear, and dont put too much rubber on it.
Turbo would be nice, but you could get away with a nice streetported 13b with no problems.
Kyle at Mazdatrix has been doing well with his first gen drift car. Call them and ask to speak with him, he's a nice guy.
