Noob to first Gen..question about the Carburetor

Noob to first Gen..question about the Carburetor

just got a mint condition 1st gen..off a brother friends wife..for 200 bucks.. (so SWEET) and they say it had a bad carburetor just sitting there... is there anything i can check for and see if its still usable or even bad....? can it still be runnable?

even if its bad it probably only needs a rebuild

carb rebuild kit, some wrenches, ...probably be better off having someone do it for you.

you could, but if its used, you might still have to rebuild it cuz you don't know how long it's been since it ran. plus it'll be more expensive in the long run. so, if you just know someone that knows how to work on carbs, it doesn't take much, but it's really easy to screw something up, and i don't recommend it to do it by yourself since it's your first time. surely you can find someone that has basic knowledge of carbs that can help you rebuild it, just to make sure you're doing everything right you know.
