non sealed beam headlight?

non sealed beam headlight?

does anyone know where to find a non sealed beam kit that looks like a normal headlight. instead of some off-road headlight clear thing? i had a set for my old bug and sold the bug. the lights were a gift back then and they cant remember where they got them. can anyone help me?

Hella makes them with a replaceable H4 bulb.

Bosch makes one too, less expensive than Hella I believe but of decent quality. Don't buy the junky "diamond cut" crap ones off ebay though.

I had excellent results by installing relays and heavy gauge power wires to the headlights. I also use the XtraVision bulbs (from Phillips I believe), which are actually brighter than the silverstars and half the cost.

You can also install an additional relay so that you can run the low and high beams at the same time. Very glad I did this too...

IPF also sells a very nice sealed beam conversion, as well as some extroidinary bulbs.

I got mine locally for $10 each, made by Matrix or something like that. But I've seen them on the web a couple places for about the same price.

I got the e-bay ones and they are pretty good. They are nice quality and a very good price. Glass lense with a replaceable bulb.

The Bosch ones are plastic lens, so you don't have to worry about stone chips or anything.

Yeah, but the plastic will fog up, unlike a glass lens, and the glass won't break as easily.

Mine haven't fogged up in 3 years of use. If you fail to use the rubber boots that go on the back, I suppose they might, but that's true of glass too.

Nor have they broken. And since when is glass less brittle than plastic?

yes those are the ones. they dont come with bulbs though.

manntis your right they need to be aimed. however i dont drive the car at night.

May sound like a stupid question ... but do all the ones mentioned above use the stock Connector? If not which ones come with one or where do you guys get them.

See my post above. They have heavy duty plugs that can be installed. I made a custom set myself.

Mine just plugged into the stock harness, though I plan on making a relay system similar to Kentetsu's.
