Noises, noises...
OK! Ever since i got my 7 ('85), about 3 years ago, i've had an bitch-of-an-annoying-rattle from the front shield that's directly under the fan and pulleys... That shield can move up and down and hit what i think is the oil pan's side protrution (where the upper and lower half meet). I still can't figure out how that shield was originally held in place--maybe a weld broke? invisible screws fell off? how can i make that shield stay still so that whenever i go over bumps it won't rattle!? I absolutely HATE that rattling noise--so whenever i give a friend a ride, i turn up the bass and get the woofer kicking =P
Anyway, someone give me some wisdom and tell me how to secure that shield! If you need pics, I'll get them tomorrow...
Thanx!
P.S. I've been gone from this board for a LONG time and boy do i feel good to be back =)

The underpan is only secured to the front air dam thing. It just slides in the rear. Maybe you can pull it off and bend the tabs so it fits better.

Oooo... It'll make the temperature gauge rise?! This is a must do! =P (j/k)
I was thinking of putting a large bolt through it and use it like a clamp, and clamp it to the oil pan's lip--good, bad idea?
