No VIN#

I bought my 7 about three days ago for $500. It's a 1980, with the stock 12a it has a few problems with the rear end that I am currently fixing.

The car has a pretty interesting history the person i bought it from bought it at a police auction in Ackworth, Georgia. The story he was given upon buying it was that it belonged to a bank robber who ditched that car while running from the police and actually got away. The problem with that is he removed the VIN# so even the Georgia DMV has it listed as no VIN# on the registration.

What i want to know is:
Is there somewhere on the car i could look for a VIN#(considering they are usually many places)
If i can't find that are there any ways that i can figure out what trim package it has(such as GSL)

It is a ninty eighty with 12a motor, a 5 speed trans, LSD, and Four wheel disc brakes.

I don't know much about this cars and i am just hoping to learn.

on the sa's there is a plate on the driver door jam, plate under the hood ( pass side firewall), and one you can see through the front glass ( lower driverside).

stamped into firewall drivers side location is preaty deep you might be ablbe to clean that are up and find it even if it was tampered with there, offen the drivers side windshield location gets hidden on the 79 and 80s if the windshield has been replaced

I have no doubt the bank robber stole it but that was years ago and it's been cleared by the DMV.

I thought I would have a good picture of the location but this is the best I have.

You can kind of see the number stamped in, driver side just below the hood molding.
