No ump..? Possibly secondaries on nikki..?

I been driving my car on a daily basis now for almost a month now... The first week I had the same problem I am about to explain and it happened for about a day and a half but then it cleared up...?

Anyways, what's going on is this... When I floor the car it doesn't go. If I was to guess I say the secondaries aren't kicking in. That is exactly what it feels like.

I am almost sure it is a fuel delivery issue b/c before after being floored when I would let off I would get a small backfire... which is gone. I can hold it floored for a full minute while the rpm's climb sooooooo slooooow and when I let off no more backfire. ?

It's the same feeling as driving on one rotor. But this morning it cleared up on the way to work and she ran beautiful again. On the way home it was back to the sloooooow lane.

Can anyone throw me a clue..?

Still have the stock exhaust system? Sounds like it's plugged. If it's not, change the fuel filter.

hmmmm you think...? Never thought about those two... The exhaust system is nasty old and stock. The muffler actually fell off the other day, ugh. Good excuse to transfer that RB setup over. Fuel filter is brand new but I'll check it out. I added a sump and they lined the inside of the tank with this red crap to prevent rust. I guess the filter will tell all.

I'll let ya know how it goes. THANKS.

Yep, if it's slow free reving and the fuel system is good, the exhaust is most likely plugged.

the car has three converters. i'd bet that one or more is clogged. when the engine is running, go behind it and feel the exhaust. it should be strong. if not, as a secondary test, have someone rev the engine up and you should notice that there's a lot of exhaust pressure. if theres not much exhaust pressure, your converter(s) are clogging. you may also want to check the vaccume operated secondaries for faults. converting over to mechanical seondaries helps a lot. also, like trochoid said, check that fuel filter and perhaps replace it.

I'm swapping over parts from one car to the other right now, so I changed the whole exhaust system since it had to be done anyways. Well, it wasn't the cats or exhaust being clogged. As soon as the rain stops I'll get on dropping the fuel filter. Looking into the secondaries is next.
