Angry No Power to anything in car, won't start!!

Earlier today i was messin with my stereo, i hooked up a second amp and was trying to see which amp prouced better bass and which produced best speaker sound, I was using my stereo without the car on for about 3 hours (I have a very good battery), but then I left to the shop to put some knew rear brake pads on and as soon as i got the started i noticed a wierd sound when the door was open and it would stop when it was closed, i guessed just battery was low and the door open beeper wasn't gettin enough juice to make the right sound. So I started driving and as i rolled up the window it would shut my cd player off for a second and then the cd player would go back on, along with pounding the stereo or turning lights on or off. As soon as i got out there I shut my car off and tried turning it back on but nothing would happen, my interior lights, stereo, igniton and door sound, dash lights etc. wouldnt turn on. So i tried charging the battery and that wouldnt help. All i could get power too is the headlights. I noticed there are to wires going to the battery, one thick one and one smaller one, the small one would spark when i touched the positive post and the headlights would turn on and thats it, the large one wouldnt spark when i touched the post so i guess thats the one for the starter and everything else. When i put a test light up to each wire against the post the light would come on however it seems like there isnt power going through that wire into the car.

I Dont know what is wrong so if anywone knows or has any Ideas of what is happening please let me know it would be greatly appreciated im kind of stressed about it all and hope nothing serious is wrong.

Check the fusable links (3 cloth lcovered wires) strapped to the strut tower. Bet the main one is shot.

Well nothing in the car except the headlights get power though so I dont think jump starting would work.

And also when my car was running there was a weird sound coming from the dash that changed tones whith the rpms of the engine, it only was on when the door was open.

If the headlight motors work, and the headlights turn on, but nothing else electrical works, its the main fusible link as mentioned above.

Go check your fusibles already! Then figure out what you wired wrong, causing the link to burn out in the first place... It is most likely the center link (I'm pretty sure), and it burned out due to too much juice running through it.

Rather than searching around for another fusible to put in there, take a look in the archives for the upgrade method...
