NO one know how to fix a carb

IM stuck and cant find any option other than buy an new carb, i rebuilt my 79 carb and its still doin the same as befor, it goes WOT witht he choke closed, I can get it to idle by adkusting how far the choke **** is pulled out. if i let it warm upit will idle without the choke, but if i mash the gas it sputters and dies, if i give it gradual gas the rpms accelerate as normal. My guess (17 year old pizza boy and this is my first car to play with) is that it is getting to much gas, or not enough air?
im shooting blind and i cant find anyone that can help, or anything online that helps?

any advice?

are you sure your floats are adjusted properly? also, be sure to check your fuel filter and make sure it is good and you are getting sufficient gas to the carb. i would start there.

For your first problem. With the choke **** pulled all the way out it should increase the idle speed to about 3000 rpm's. If its going higher than that, then your fast idle rod needs to be adjusted.

For your second problem, the accelerator pump is out of adjustment. Thats why it bogs/stalls when you mash the gas. Look at my website under tech info. No pics, but the description of how to, is there.

Heres a pic of the fast idle link. Its painted red. Follow it down to the other end. You can see how moving the choke closed will make the link on the bottom end of the rod open the throttle. You have to CAREFULLY bend the rod to get the adjustment you need. Its in the Haynes and shop manual.

Yea, just look, youll figure it out. The manual tells you where to bend the rod.

At the low end of that rod is an arm that swivels loosely on the throttle shaft, and makes contact with a horizontally running tab.

-I think you may have that swiveling arm turned around.
