No more RX7 for me.

I hope this doesn't get killed but I'm quitting working on my 7, it's taking more money than I have and it breaks my heart to see it in my garage so I'm giving it away.

Didn't you get the memo that came with the car? These things cost a ton more than the sticker price! Sorry to hear about the situation. I hope it goes to a fellow rotorhead, I know if I was close I would surely take it off your hands!

PS - Take your time on it. Many members have been working on their cars for years at a time!

I had the same issue, I chose to store it for 3 years till my financial situation changed, rather than selling. Best decision I ever made. Maybe just take a break?

Child support. Novel Idea. Hafta see if I get my ex-wife to gimme 1/2 her paychecks, along with the SSDI check she gets for my son, who lives with me.

I spose you just aren't trying hard enough. Anything worth doing, is worth doing right. If it's a cheap car you want, they exist. They're called civics.

I was a little early in saying "no money" I found where I can trim $200 extra a month out of my expenses. which means I would have $300.00 a month, (no cable, getting a cheaper cellphone plan, killing the land line, cleaning my APT my self and not using a cleaning service) so if I save like crazy for 3 months I can totally get an engine.

Also I need to know I've completed something you know. I set a goal of October for me and that didn't work so yeah...

Me wants day to end so I can pull back on the gloves and keeping pulling the engine out.

hehe, I've had mine since ~96 and it hasn't run since ~2001. Parked it in my apartments during college, moved it to my moms for like 3 years, finally got me/it in a house/garage this year and I now I find that over the years, chalking up kids takes up a lot of my free time. However, I digress. I still got the car and it's still not for sale and just to get it running, I could buy a whole other car easily. I'm currently pulling out the interior (almost done) and reviewing the internal wiring. A side effort, which requires more effort, is the body work. Minor dents, ALL the rubber (cracked/melted), and the paint, all crap. It will be quite a long time before the car is running. The funny thing to me is, I pulled out the oil cooler, radiator, and A/C "thing" a long *** time ago and simply putting those 3 things back in are the biggest road-blocks to getting the car running. I just don't remember how they go in there or if I have all the bolts, hinges, and stuff. LOL. I'm hoping to get the radiator + plumbing back in tonight followed by the oil cooler tomorrow night.

Pull it out of the garage and take some pics. Engine running? Any known electrical issues? I've got room for another rex. I wonder where this thread will end up? It's not really a classified ad thread but def not a "we can help you, just do this" kinda thead, either.

Keep it, just keep it. I swear, the other day I was ready to put the GS and GSL up for sale because the GSL keeps over heating and the GS doesn't run. I love the car though, so I would have a hard time getting parting with it.

I've taken your advice I woke up threw on my crap clothes and went down and worked on the beast, I've gotten the water pump off, I'm going to get that f'ing engine out of there if it kills it! I doubt I'm going to rebuild, next week I'm going to a farking huge salvage yard near me and see if I can find a 13b
