I'd just leave the junk under the dash. The weight savings to PITA ratio just isn't good enough.

The major weight savings in the AC removal is the compressor and the bracket which is made from pure lead so far as I can tell.

man... WHY would you do that.. i will NEVER take out the a/c in my car. ill have a car looking like fbdrifter's, and still have a/c someone worked in there. its not THAT much space, you might knock off .001 second off your 1/4 mile time. just not worth it in my opinion, unless it doesnt work and isnt worth fixing.

I would imagine removing the main condenser gives the radiator better airflow too.

I removed my A/C also a couple weeks ago.
And just today I started yanking out the A/C
stuff under the dash. Also the previous owner
unhooked the heater so I'm ripping EVERYTHING out.
Thats right.I removed all the air ducts and everything on the passenger side so far.Tommorow is the dirvers side and unit in the middle.

Silver/White cars don't need A/C... Luckily my compressor still works as it blew cold till a hose wore through on the hot start motor bracket, so I'll have a spare for my truck which is black...

I can't believe you said that, if that is your location. LOL. Silver is better but can still get pretty hot. Many years ago I actually ADDED air conditioning to a silver RX-7. It might be bearable when not wearing much clothes, but in a shirt and tie its no fun to arrive dripping in sweat. There will be an affect on resale value if you take out the AC. If you keep the underdash stuff in there it would be easier to put the AC back one day.

I refuse to work somewhere that won't let me wear short sleeved shirts in the summer.

I refuse to work anywhere that makes me wear a tie, period.

The daily driver truck WILL have A/C... it's black. I'm addding a glass sunroof to it soon.

I'm gonna add a glass sunroof to the 7 too when I can find one.

Tinted glass, silver-mylar sun shade in the windshield, and a towel over the steering wheel reduce in car temps by a lot when it's parked.
