no fire off of the coil:help
dropped a different engine in an 85 with a 12A. The engine was running when taken out of my other car. Now I am not getting fire off of the coil. Switched it out with a good coil and did the same with the ignitor. Is it possible it could be a fuseable link or something to that nature?
Thanks

I have power to the coil, I haven't chkd power to the ignitor, but did switch it out. I will try that. Like I said, this was a running engine when I removed it from my other car and I didn't change anything on the dizzy, ect, so I am figure it must be something up with the wiring on the car. What would you say Carl.

So you swaped over the dizzy from the old, running engine? It does have the rotor inside it right? Did you hook up the ground wire for the engine to the body?

He said he has power to the coils.

I have an led tester, so I will use it and test the resistence in the coils and try to test the ignitors, but like I said, I swhitched the leading on both of those with good ones at least they were the last time I used them. Is it a good idea to switch out the fusable like with a generic fuse block, maybe get rid of a future problem? thanks

Got the ground hooked up, it cranks over good and the am getting fuel, just no spark off of the leading wire from the coil, but I do have power to the coil. Whats the easiest way to tes the coil to make certain? I switched those off the other car when I went to Accel coils and then did a 2nd gen coil conversion. I guess I can pull the Accel coil I am not using off of the other car, because I am absolutly certain it's working.
