no electrical power

Tried to start my 85 RX7 this morning and no power at all. Clock, Radio, nothing. Battery is good and tried a spare. Cables ends are good. Didn't have much time needed to get to work. What should I try next? Not sure if there is a main fuse or relay.

Fusible links on the drivers side (left) strut tower might be burnt out? They can be replaced with FC type fuses. Dont have any pictures though im afraid! Should be some around the forum if you look hard enough :P

yeah I'd start with what JSmall said. I got rid of my fusible links after I had to replace the main for the third time, so do yourself a favor and get the FC type fuses

that was it

That was it thanks. I had spare in my misc parts box but looking to get some replacements for the wire type fusible links. Does anyone know if the Bussman FLF-40 and FLF-20 is a direct replacements. I read online it would work but want to make sure of what I order. The FLF-40 would be under rated from the 45amp but rather play on the safe side then a FLF-50.

I had this happen twice - both times it was the positive battery terminal. Well, once it was the terminal, the second time it was the actual wire, which was fixed by a quick cut and strip. 30yr old cars can have some nasty terminals and connecting wire.

Yeah the Bussman FLF style will work, I would use 2 pink 30A and 1 yellow 60A. These are also plug n play, might have to clean up the blades a little, but otherwise they go right in. I ended up opting out of the FC fuse box for these and haven't had any issues, plus they can be found at most auto parts stores.
