Welcome to the Club!
I don't think anyone here has anything against domestics. It's just a love for the
uniqueness of the Wankel motor.
You have come to the right place for advise. Wankels don't like to sit for a long
time, so you have to be extra careful if it has been sitting for years.
Since i am also kind of new, i can't tell you exactly what to look for. But alot of
other guys here are very knowledgeable.
Have you been able to hear the car running?
Or a start up has been attempted? If so, what were the results?
What attracted you into checking out the Rotary cars?

Hope the other guys will give you some information.

Click on this Link:

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/1st-gen-rx-7-faq-page-237777/

It will take you to the "THE 1st GEN RX-7 FAQ PAGE!". It has very important
guides to the Rotary Engine (Wankel). It's a must read!
