ok. i need a little help from those that know math pretty good. been too long since i even needed it being an old man. but i'm trying to figure out some jet sizes for my nitrous. i know i shouldn't do what the manufacture says, but they won't tell me what i need so i'm doing it myself. here would be the exuations in algebra if i remember right.

if 100=41 150=57 200=70 then 75=x ?

and then

if 100=35 150=46 200=57 then 75=y ?

any help would be appreciated. i didn't think of that way till today when i was going to order them.. then i thought, maybe my other way was way off. anyways the otherway i got ( was drunk at the time but figured i'm smarted that way) x & y both = 30 or 31. so i'm probably way off, but i really need to know tonight. thanks.

Where did you get those numbers? They do not seem to be consistent. Maybe I am missing something though. Are those supposed to be a ratio? If so, then the proportions are inconsistent.

 

they came with the kit.
the 100=41 is the hp rating = nitrous jet size. i'm trying to get a 75 shot instead of 100.


and then 100=35 is the hp rating = fuel jet size. so if i can get x & y i'll have the 75 shot nitrous and fuel jet sizes. i probably didn't put it in the right equation. but i am trying.

 

If I'm understanding what you're doing correctly, I'm getting more like 26 and 28 (because the ratio is different depending on your 75/100/150/200 number)

Ok based on the values for 100, x=30.75 and y=26.25
Hope that helps. To do it, just set up a ratio, for example (x/75)=(41/100) and solve. Good luck.

 

so on the value's of 200 x=26.25 and y=21.375.

i'm lost. there should be a mathematical way to get the numbers in sequence with the other ratings. so they are the same. hopefully.

75/ 32.61 = 2.3
100/41 = 2.44
150/57 = 2.63
200/70 = 2.86

75/ 28.85 = 2.6
100/35 = 2.86
150/46 = 3.26
200/57 = 3.51

So there's my best attempt :-)

ok. i looked at my drawing in the garage to understand how i got my numbers. this is how i did it.

41 35 =100 so with those numbers i guessed

22 24 =50 so get the difference between them for 75

31 30 = 75?

thats what i got on my desk in the garage. does that look right to anybody else, or have i sniffed too many paint fumes?

well, that didn't show like i wrote it. but hopefully you ccan understand cause it confuses me now. just think spaces.

 

That math would only work if the jet sizes were directly proportional to the power rating they produce. I.E. Constant * jet size = power rating. This is obviously not the case with these numbers, so setting up a proportion like that does not work.

The numbers are not DIRECTLY proportional, but they are fairly close to being proportional. For example, the fuel jets/power ratings:
100=35 150=46 200=57

For an increase from 100 to 150 HP (50HP difference) you go up 11 jet sizes (from 35 to 46)
For an increase from 150 to 200 HP (50HP difference) you also go up 11 jet sizes (from 46 to 57)

From that data you can conclude that the fuel jet creates 50 HP per 11 sizes, or 25 HP per 5.5 sizes. So you will need a 29.5 Fuel jet for a 75 shot (100 shot jet 35 -5.5 sizes for 25 less HP)

The nitrous jets are a little more iffy.

100=41 150=57 200=70

100 to 150 HP = a difference of 16 jet sizes
150 to 200 HP = a difference of only 13 jet sizes.

This is where you have to ask yourself, must it be a 75 shot? Would a 71 or 77 shot be ok?
Using the methods before I would say about a 33 jet for the nitrous would yield around a 75 shot (not exact)

Now because nothing is perfect, I would go for the 33 jet on the nitrous side, but go rich a few jets on the fuel side just to be safe...say...a 32 jet on the fuel. You will then be in the ballpark of a 75 shot and you can tune down the fuel from there if needed.
