Nikki woes
I think my Nikki has got some trash in it. We tested the fuel pump, it works. We checked the fuel line to the carb, it is getting fuel. We just replaced the fuel filter, and 3ft of ancient fuel line to new line, so its not the filter or the line or the pump.
The return line would spit most of the gas that got to the carb back out, so that is what makes me think its trash in the carb.
It will crank with starting fluid, but wont stay running.
Any ideas other than trash in the carb?
And one more question, I was going to try the 12A stock until I had the money for a TII swap but I have a Weber 45DCOE carb sitting there and I was planning on selling it for funds for the swap. Is it worth trying to fix the Nikki, or should I just use it.
All input is appreciated.
Thanks, Wyatt

Have you checked the sight windows on the fuel bowles? If you're concerned about trash in your carb, it is likely that it clogged up the needle valves. If the fuel bowles are dry then this could be the culprit. As far as the return line, it will shunt fuel back to the tank after the needle valves close.

provided u have the intake to go with that weber, just swap it on there. the t2 swap will cost more than what u can get for the weber anyway. u'll like the increased power and throttle response with the weber. then all u'll need is to upgrade the exhaust with a freer flowing system.

Already have a GP Sorenson kit (had to replace the accelerator pump).
Still debating on to rebuild it or change it out.....
Thanks for the input

It is fixed. We took off the little bolts on the top of the carb that attach to the fuel and return line, and sprayed carb cleaner in the holes. Lots of little piecies of ancient rubber and trash came out.
It ran fine after that.
Thanks, Wyatt

It runs really well now that its fixed and we added another fuel filter on the line just before the carb.
And you know what the say, dont fix what aint broke.
When it finally gives or I get tired of it up, Ill go to the Weber.
Thanks, Wyatt
