actually i just ordered it through advance auto parts by calling 1-877-238-2623. i had them price match it to autozone and they applied a 20% off (discount code: p20) to their price of 47.19 not the 21.99 autozone has so i saved a total of 34.64. pretty slick deal as i saved even more than autozone. lets just hope their vendor has it in stock and my order wont get cancelled.
I just went to 3 different stores. AutoZone couldn't get one, Advance could but would not price match because they have a lifetime warranty and AutoZone doesn't. A nice lady at O'Reilly ordered me a Walker equivalent, $26 before tax, should be in Wednesday.

yea when i talked to the customer service rep (csr) for like almost 30 mins. kept getting put on hold kuz they had a hard time finding autozones warranty policy for the carb kit. actually autozone doesnt say the warranty on the website so they just assumed it was the same and gave me the pm.
my kit shipped out today so they fulfillment center is faster than autozones from what ive read. i cant wait to rebuild my first carb!

Hey boyee, I picked up mine today(Walker=for an 81) and there are only 5 total aluminum gaskets/crush washers, the rest are "other softer material" as noted by another member with the kit they received.
How many aluminum gaskets are in the GP Sorenson kit?
The counter person said that Walker are an OEM equivalent.

Divin has a photo and description here, looks like the sorenson kit has a lot more aluminum, and some copper!

I had this same problem trying to find the kit. But I live in the United States. I went to O'Rilley and we spent a half an hour trying to find out what kind of kit I needed. They said there was only a 84-85 rebuild kit they had was for the 1.3l engine only. Which I thought the 1.3l was all fuel injected. But looking up that kit and even the earlier kits they had nothing in stock and not even their main warehouse had any in stock. I had no choice but going to Autozone. My girlfriend went the first time and they said they didn't have any. So I went after work and after about another 15 minutes of looking, they had one that will be special ordered. So these things don't seem to be very easy to find at all.

I gave up on O'Reilly after they took over Kragen. Used to be able to get decent parts from Kragen, & order them on-line, but now they only offer their "house" brand parts for most applications, which IMO are the cheapest knockoff crap they can find.
& the counter staff is as bad or worse as what I see at Pep Boys. No product knowledge at all.

Lol that's how it is most places around here. O'Rilley seems to be the only ones that know they are at least selling car parts. The others are so clueless they probably still need help putting gas in their cars.

funny thing, i was able to order the 96-462 kit through advance auto but not through autozone when some could order it through autozone (probably because their local store had it in stock).
well, i decided to get the 96-555 kit because i read sterling's website saying that the cheaper kit (26.99 vs 21.99 on autozone, but advance auto is the same price for both) did not have the check *****. so i tried ordering it through advance again but they could not sell it to me since none of their four warehouses had them in stock. i tried autozone and they got it for me in about 2 days and since there is one local to me i did not have to pay for shipping. so i actually paid less for the more expensive kit at autozone for less than the price matched kit i got through advance auto.
now time to get crackin on my carb. i've been lagging...
